We often get asked, “when will I pay for my dog walk(s)?” so we’d love to explain a bit more about this!
Swifto has two types of billing frequencies: weekly and monthly and all of our payments are done automatically online via credit card. We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover!
All new clients are automatically set up with weekly billing. With weekly billing, your account will be charged automatically every Friday for the following week's walks. For example, you would be charged on Friday, June 16th for walks the week of June 19th. So, any walks that fall between Monday, June 19th, and Sunday, June 25th, would be included in this invoice.
If you are a new client, you are charged for the first time one week after your first scheduled walk for all walks of that week. Then you will be part of the regular billing schedule where you are charged the Friday before the upcoming week of walks. So, you are not charged ahead of time for putting the walks in the system.
So basically, as a new client, you will be billed for the first time only after you've had your first meet and greet and confirmed you would like to proceed with your scheduled walks! So, you will not be charged ahead of time for putting the walks in the system but rather you will be charged for the first time one week after your first scheduled walk for all walks of that week and for next week's walks if on Friday or Saturday.
If you ever need to cancel walks throughout the week after having already been charged, your account will be credited accordingly (as long as we receive 24 hours notice), and any credit you have will be applied automatically to your next invoice. If you prefer a refund to the card on file, you can ask us and we are happy to submit that for you. You will see the refund approximately 5-10 business days later, depending on your bank.
If you were to add additional walks throughout the week after invoices had already gone out for that week, you will be charged an hour after they've been added to the system, or in the case of last-minute walks, only once they've been paired.
Some Swifto clients prefer to be set up with monthly billing instead. This can be updated by logging into your account, navigating to the “Dashboard” and then the “Billing” tab and by clicking “Learn More” under the section labeled “Invoices.” From here, there will be the option to click a button that will automatically switch your billing preference!
Monthly billing was previously the default option which may mean that clients from several years ago, who are coming back, may still have monthly billing set up, in the event you’d like to modify it.
When switching to monthly billing, your account will be charged automatically on the 1st of the month for all walks pre-scheduled for that month. For example, you would be charged on July 1st for all of your scheduled walks in July.
Similarly to weekly billing, if you need to cancel walks throughout the month, your account will be credited accordingly (as long as we receive 24 hours notice), and any credit you have will be applied automatically to your next invoice (or refunded). And, any additional walks added throughout the month will also be charged an hour after they've been inserted, or in the case of last-minute walks, only once they've been paired.
Swifto’s Cancellation Policy
Please note that you can cancel a walk at any time! Just be sure to let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you wish to be credited back for your cancellation. Swifto maintains a 24-hour cancellation policy, which is required as a courtesy to our dog walkers who rely on the income of their pre-set walk schedules to make a living, and who without sufficient notice, aren't granted the opportunity of making alternate arrangements to pick up additional work to make up for the loss of income within the time slot that was originally reserved for your scheduled walk.
